Free RefWorks Pro for UofT Students

RefWorks is a powerful reference management tool that helps you collect, organize, and format citations for your research papers. As a UofT student, you have free access to RefWorks Pro!

Getting Started

Follow these steps to set up your RefWorks Pro account:

  1. Visit the UofT RefWorks Portal

    đź’ˇ Tip: Remember to bookmark the login page for easy access in the future!

  2. Look for the “Create account” button at the bottom of the page

    ⚠️ Important: Do not click on "Use login from my institution" as this feature is currently not working properly

  3. Enter your UofT email address and click Check

  4. Create a password for your account and click Sign Up

    ⚠️ Important: You may see the "Use login from my institution" option again. Do not click on it!

  5. Check your email (including spam folder) for the verification email. Click the verification link within 24 hours to activate your account

  6. Return to RefWorks and log in with your UofT email and password

  7. Complete your profile by providing:

    • First and last name
    • Department
    • Role (graduate student, staff member, etc.)
